Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area sits at an elevation of approximately 6,300 feet, providing cool mountain temperatures and easy access to the best of Arizona's White Mountains. The campground features nearly 100campsites, including tent sites and RV sites with electric hookups, many overlooking the picturesque 150-acre lake. Modern restrooms, hot showers, a dump station, playgrounds, picnic ramadas, boat ramps, and accessible fishing piers make it one of the most comfortable public campgrounds in the region.

The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and also supports brown trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, and pike, making it a favorite destination for anglers throughout the year. Boating is permitted, with both motorized and non-motorized watercraft welcome. Scenic shoreline trails offer opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, photography, and viewing wildlife including elk, mule deer, osprey, bald eagles, great blue herons, beavers, and numerous waterfowl.

Because of its convenient location just outside Show Low, campers enjoy quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, fuel, and outdoor outfitters while still experiencing the beauty of Arizona's largest ponderosa pine forest. The combination of lakeside campsites, excellent facilities, abundant recreation, and nearby services has made Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area one of the most popular family camping destinations in the Arizona White Mountains. Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during weekends and the summer season.
