Today, I’m taking y’all on a journey through Show Low Meadow, a mesmerizing spot in the heart of Arizona’s White Mountains. Buckle up, as this place is chock-full of fishing spots, hiking trails, and scenic views that’ll knock your boots off!

Fishing in Show Low Creek

Now, I reckon many of you might be itching to cast a line and feel that thrilling tug on the other end. Well, Show Low Creek is the place to be. This pristine waterway winds its way through the meadow, offering some of the best trout fishing spots in the region. The sounds of moving water’s, and the nearby tall pines, will have you thinkin’ you’ve stepped into a postcard.

Directions: Head on over to the center of Show Low and travel South from the Deuce of Clubs Rd onto White Mountain BLVD (HWY 260). It’s just a short distance from the city center and on the left as you travel South,  The creek runs right through the middle, making it easy to access. Look for the signs pointing to the fishing areas and make sure to have a valid Arizona fishing license with you.

Hiking the Show Low Bluff Trail

Y’all ready to stretch them legs and breathe in that fresh mountain air? The Show Low Bluff Trail awaits! This trail is a moderate 1.5-mile loop, offering a mix of meadow, forest, and bluff landscapes. As you mosey along, keep them peepers peeled for local wildlife. It ain’t rare to spot deer, birds, and if you’re as quiet as a mouse, maybe even a fox or two.

Directions: The trailhead starts right at the Show Low Meadow Park. There’s ample parking, so hitch up your wagon and set off on foot. Trail markers will guide you through the loop.

While the main parts of Show Low Creek are a treat for any angler, there are some hidden spots that folks tend to miss. If you wander a tad further upstream, you’ll find some secluded pools, perfect for those who enjoy a quiet fishing experience. These little pockets are where the trout love to hide. Remember, patience is the key, and you just might reel in a big one.

Directions: Follow the creek upstream for about half a mile from the main fishing area. Keep an eye out for small, shaded pools and clearings – perfect for casting your line.

Show Low has made recent improvements to the Meadow that include new ADA restrooms, enlarged parking lot, and a barn pavilion at the trailhead. Besides the un paved “Show Low Bluff Trail”, there is also now a beautiful and fully paved 1.5 mile “Meadow Trail”, complete with ADA-accessible fishing piers, which makes the park attractive to many types of users, including parents with strollers, dog walkers, and individuals in wheelchair and walkers.
